The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the two individuals shown in the attached photos. The photos are in connection to a theft from a parked vehicle which occurred overnight on Monday December 14, 2020, in a parking lot on Cavan St.
Police attended and met with the owner of the vehicle. She explained that someone had thrown a rock through a side window and had taken her purse. Hours later, Within hours, approximately $3000 in purchases were made at various local businesses and online using her credit cards that were in the stolen purse. The complainant is currently working on being reimbursed for her losses.
Video surveillance captured two persons who have not been identified. It is not believed that the two have any connection to the apartment building where the theft took place. The first is a woman, 20-25 years of age, wearing a black hat, infinity scarf, black backpack, leggings and white runners. The second is of a man, 25-30 years old, thin build, wearing a black and white jacket and dark clothes.At this time the two persons profiled are only considered persons of interest but investigators would certainly like to speak with them
