Human remains discovered in Trail

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 6:15 p.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers received a report from a resident who had discovered human remains near Highway 3B and Lins Road, in Trail, BC. The resident was looking for her lost dog when she stumbled upon the remains.

Trail RCMP officers and Nelson Forensic Identification Section attended and conducted a thorough examination of the scene.

The BC Coroner Service was notified about the incident. A forensic autopsy is scheduled for later this week. The matter remains under investigation.

Break, enter, and theft to Trail business

File # 2023-3877

On Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to a report of a break, enter, and theft from a business inside a building located in the 1100 block of Cedar Avenue, in Trail, BC. The culprit(s) stole up to ten Microsoft laptops worth approximately $20,000. Trail RCMP and Nelson Forensic Identification Section RCMP officers conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene. Investigators will be seeking video surveillance that may have captured the culprit(s) entering the building and leaving with the laptops.

The culprit(s) broke into a second business in the building; however, nothing appeared to have been stolen at this time.

Prohibited driver gets nabbed by Trail RCMP officer

File # 2023-3885

On Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 9:18 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer was conducting a routine patrol in a marked police vehicle when he spotted a prohibited driver, 45-year-old Trail woman, driving a 2004 Buick Le Sabre on Robertson Street, in Trail, BC. The officer detained the woman and her vehicle roadside.

The officer arrested the woman for driving while prohibited under Section 95 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. The officer released the woman at the scene after a short detention. The woman had her vehicle impound for up to seven days.

The 45-year-old Trail woman will make her first appearance on October 11, 2023, in Provincial Court, in Rossland, BC.

Trail Pride Market 2023

On Saturday, August 12, 2023, Trail and Greater District RCMP attended the Trail Pride Market located in downtown Trail, BC. The event was a huge success.

I would like to recognize Addison Oberg and her support team for their tremendous efforts in making Trail Pride a success.
