File # 2024-100

On February 10th, 2024, at around 1:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a Volkswagen Jetta stolen from a gas station on Chartrand Ave in Logan Lake, BC.

Employees of the gas station reported seeing the vehicle travel toward Merritt or Ashcroft.

Frontline officers in Logan Lake, along with BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) officers, immediately conducted patrols for the vehicle.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., BCHP officers spotted the stolen vehicle traveling on Highway 8, toward Spences Bridge. However, given the suspect speeding excessively and erratically, officers did not pursue for public safety concerns.

Officers deployed a spike belt near Highway 8 and Highway 1, which was successful in forcing the vehicle to stop. Officers were then able to safely arrest the driver.

Charges of theft of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and dangerous operation of a conveyance were approved against the accused, 44-year-old Christopher Loosley-Millman.

Anyone with further information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Logan Lake RCMP at (250) 523-6222.
