Missing person

File 2023-2359

On October 22, 2023 a woman reported her husband and son were overdue from a hunting trip in the Shalath area. The duo were supposed to be home in the morning but did not arrive. Their last check in was on a Garmin device 2 days prior. Police later received a call from the woman who advised the two had checked in with her in Lillooet, they were having technical issues with there Garmin device while still out of cell range.

Suspicious occurrence

File 2023-2362

On October 22, 2023 a grocery store manager in town reported an elderly man (78 years old) was at the grocery store earlier and hitting on young staff members, women in particular. The elderly man was no longer welcome at the store for his behaviour with staff members. The man had left the store, the staff were advised to call police if he were to reattend.

Noise complaint

File 2023-2364

On October 22, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a noise complaint for a residence in town. Lillooet RCMP members attended to a large gathering/wedding celebration, the property owner was asked to lower the noise in consideration for residents nearby. The caller was updated on police action, and there were no further noise concerns.

Wildlife act

File 2023-2374

On October 25, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of a large black bear at the Lillooet Tim Horton’s dumpster. Lillooet RCMP member attended and drove the bear off with his police vehicle sirens. The bear fled across Main St and down toward the river. There were no further concerns.

Mischief

File 2023-2381

On October 26, 2023 a Lillooet District employee reported a window to the District office was broken with a rock and several windows at the Miyazaki heritage house were also broken with rocks. Assault

File 2023-2393

On October 27, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report from a woman who advised her daughter had just assaulted her and tried to break her phone. The woman advised she had her hair pulled and was bit, she had on going issues with her daughter who had been living with her for 2 years, she was uncertain what she sought from police at the tine. The matter is still under investigation.

Assault

File 2023-2402

On October 29, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a 3rd party report of two men fighting at a residence. Lillooet RCMP attended, the two men were friends and intoxicated. They had a physical fight, one man was transported to the hospital for further medical assessment. Neither party wished to pursue any charges. There were no further concerns nor any further wishes of police. 

Break and enter

File 2023-2410

On October 30, 2023 a woman reported a boarded up plywood panel was removed from a vacant residence she owned in town. There were prior such issues at the residence before. Nothing was observed to be stolen at the time. The matter was documented. 

Theft of bicycle

File 2023-2416

On October 31, 2023 a woman attended the Lillooet RCMP detachment and reported her Norco Mountain bike was stolen from her yard, it occurred sometime in the prior week. She was asked to call back with additional information on the bike for documentation purposes. 

Theft of bicycle

File 2023-2428

On November 1, 2023 an employee at George Murray Elementary school reported that a sea can on the school property had been broken into and multiple Norco Storm hard tail bicycles were missing. Lillooet RCMP attended and spoke with the staff member who advised 2 bikes were recovered on the outskirts of the school property and turned in to the school. There was still 1 or 2 outstanding bikes (unknown to staff member) which had not been recovered. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-2428. 

Collision

File 2023-2456

On November 7, 2023 Lillooet RCMP received a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle incident on Fountain Valley Rd. Lillooet RCMP attended and located the vehicle which had some front end damage and was unoccupied. Lillooet RCMP later learned the vehicle driver had reportedly struck a deer. The matter was referred to ICBC.

Theft from vehicle

File 2023-2466

On November 8, 2023 a man reported his ladder was stolen from the back of his truck while it was parked outside the Buy Low Foods parking lot around 4:45pm. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2023-2466.
