Lost kayak

On May 30th, a complainant recorded that she had lost her kayak as she was towing it behind her boat two days previous in Seymour Narrows. The kayak was described as yellow plastic, approximately 16 feet long, brand name Ocean Kayak, model Mantra, with the owners name and number on the bottom.

Abandoned 911

On May 30th Quadra RCMP received an abandoned 911 from a local residence. Officers followed up and spoke with the homeowners. Both parties were very cooperative and advised they were trying to call 411 but called 911 by accident. 

Found firearm

On May 31st, a complainant reported locating a found rifle at the beach access area of Noble Road. The complainant stated he was out diving and located an old rusty rifle about 10 to 15 feet from shore. Officers attended and seized the rifle. At this time it is unknown why or how the rifle got into the water and the matter is still under investigation. 

Unsure about wanting police

On June 1st, an elusive complainant contacted the RCMP and refused to provide any information regarding what they wanted. The complainant advised they just wanted to speak with an actual officers and wouldn't give any further details. Officers contacted the complainant who apologized and stated they actually didn't police anymore and it had sorted itself out.

Multiple roadblocks 

On June 3rd, 2023 Quadra officers were conducting a roadblock. Most of the drivers were sober and cooperative. One 24 hour prohibition was issued for a driver as well a ticket for no driver license. 

Check well being

In the early morning hours of June 4th, Quadra RCMP received a report of man passed out in his vehicle in the middle of the road in the North end of the Island. When police and paramedics attended, the vehicle had since moved and there were no signs of a collision, injury, or distress. Further investigation revealed the driver, who may have been impaired, was woken up by the complainant and was unable to move his vehicle as the battery was dead. The driver was able to push the vehicle onto a safe spot on the side of the road before emergency personnel attended. The matter is still under investigation. 

Break and enter

On June 4th Quadra RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a shed at a residence at on Hyacinthe Bay Road. The incident occurred sometime in the last month. Multiple items, including a Yamaha engine, paddle boards, and paddle board equipment were taken.
