The Fort St John RCMP wish to join in on the celebrations for National Puppy Day by introducing Rani, a beautiful little puppy-in-training for a career in the RCMP Police Dog Service.

Rani is a purebred German Shepherd who was born at RCMP kennels in Innisfail, Alberta.

Fun Facts - Did you know…

1) Training to become an RCMP police service dog starts when puppies are 7 weeks old?

2) It takes an average of 18 months of training to train a police dog with ongoing weekly training while in service?

3) On average, police dogs will retire from service when they reach 8 years old?
