Highway 3 fatal collision

 On Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 4:45 PM, a collision between two vehicles on Hwy 3 south of Moyie left one passenger deceased. BC Highway Patrol, along with Cranbrook RCMP, responded to a collision between a Subaru and a commercial Tractor Trailer south of Moyie. The initial investigation has found that the southbound Subaru lost control on snowy roads rotating into the oncoming commercial vehicle. The front passenger of the Subaru, a 32 year old male from Vancouver, was determined to be deceased on scene. The driver of the Subaru was seriously injured and transported to hospital. The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

Highway 3 was closed for several hours as police investigated, gathered evidence and recovered the vehicles involved. BC Highway Patrol Cranbrook is continuing this investigation.
