Stranger assault:

During the morning of February 16th, the Kitimat RCMP were dispatched to an assault that occurred in a parking lot on Babine St, in Kitimat BC. It was reported that there was snow removal going on in the area and when an unknown male was requested to move their vehicle to facilitate snow removal, the male got out of his vehicle and punched the victim in the face. The make, described as approximately 6 ft tall with a goatee, left the area in the vehicle described as a dark vehicle with a damaged driver side front bumper. Extensive patrols were conducted; however, the driver of the vehicle was not identified.

Resist arrest:

On February 17th, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a complaint of an individual passed out at a business located on the 100 block of Nechako Centre, Kitimat BC. RCMP Officers attended the business and located the person, who was arrested for mischief for being intoxicated in public. During the arrest the person attempted to kick one of the officers. While being lodged into the detachment cells; the individual became combative and attempted to disarm one of the police officers. Several charges, including resist arrest and attempt to disarm a police officer will be forwarded to Crown Counsel for consideration.

90/30 IRP:

While on routine patrol, during the evening of February 17th, a Kitimat RCMP officer located a vehicle that required a follow up to confirm valid insurance. A traffic stop was initiated and during the stop, an impaired operation of a vehicle investigation was started. After breath samples were provides into roadside screening devices, it was determined the driver had consumed alcohol before driving. The driver was served with a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Impaired driver:

While responding to a single vehicle collision on Kitamaat Village Road, on February 19th, the Kitimat RCMP located the vehicle and driver. The driver was believed to be intoxicated and was arrested for impaired operation of a vehicle. The driver was brought to the RCMP detachment where samples of breath were provided. The driver was released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charges.

Lost wallet:

A wallet was reported lost on February 21st. The black wallet was actually lost on February 20th, but not reported until the following day. It is believed that the wallet was lost in a parking lot on the 500 block of Mountain View Square, in Kitimat BC. The wallet has a British Columbia Driver's License and children’s health cards in it. If found, please return to the Kitimat RCMP Detachment.

Loud music to impaired operation:

During the evening of February 21st, the Kitimat RCMP was dispatched to a noise complaint on Stikine St in Kitimat BC. It was reported a vehicle was parked with loud music emitting from it. Once on scene it was found the driver of the vehicle was possibly intoxicated. The driver was taken into custody and attended the Kitimat RCMP detachment to provide breath samples. The driver was charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and release from custody with a future court date.
