Motor vehicle accidents keep police busy

2022-3408

Over the past week, Mounties attended to a few motor vehicle accidents throughout the Boundary area. In many incidents, weather played a factor. On November 22 at 3:20 PM, officers attended to single vehicle rollover on Highway 3 near Whitehall Rd where a black Ford Focus was found off the roadway of the eastbound lane. The vehicle entered a turn on snow covered road when it lost control going off road and rolling onto its side before coming to a rest on all four tires. The driver and passenger were both uninjured.

2022-3413

On November 23 at 1225 PM, officers attended to a report of a Dodge Caravan down a bank at the pullout off Highway 3 near Highway 395. No one was found on scene and footprints were observed in the snow walking away. Officers followed up with the owner who provided details of the accident and confirmed that he was uninjured.

2022-3438

On November 26 at 2:00 AM, officers attended to a report of a semi versus deer on Highway 3 at the base of Spencer Hill. In this incident, the contact with the deer caused an air line break. The semi remained on scene for a few hours before being towed away.

Winter is clearly here and we ask motorists to ensure their vehicles are ready for the season, stated Detachment Commander Sergeant Darryl Peppler. And while having a vehicle equipped with snow tries is great, there is no substitution for simply slowing down and driving cautiously.
