2022-7275 – Impaired driving

Just after midnight on November 21, 2022, a member on patrol saw a car being driven suspiciously, and he pulled over the driver. The driver got out of the car and showed obvious signs of impairment, and the member completed an impaired driving investigation that resulted in the driver’s car being impounded for 30 days and the driver receiving a 90 day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.

2022-7235 et al – Mischief to vehicles

Between November 18-19, 2022, over a 24 hour period, police received multiple reports of a man using some type of object to smash parked cars and property along streets he was walking. Police found the man, assessed that he had used mind altering drugs in addition to committing the mischief, and they arrested him. Members followed up with those who reported, in total five complainants, who did not wish to any further police action taken. The man was released unconditionally once the effects of the drugs he took wore off and he could care for himself.

2022-7143 et al – Thefts from autos

Sometime between November 13, 2022, at 9:30 p.m., to the next morning at about 9:00 a.m., thieves went into cars parked in the 40700 block of Tantalus Rd. and stole cash, gifts such as toques, books, toys, keys, and a gift card. Thieves gained access through unlocked doors or smashing windows. Two weeks ago, a series of similar thefts happened in this area. Police remind people to lock their car doors and take objects of opportunity out of the car to deter would-be thieves. If people wish not to phone in a report or come to the detachment, they can report specific crimes through Online Crime Reporting
