False 911 call:

First thing in the morning, on November 3rd, 2022, the Kitimat RCMP responded to an abandoned 911 call at a local residence. Upon attendance, it was discovered that a young child had gotten a hold of a cellular phone and accidently dialed 911.

Impaired refusal:

While on routine patrol during the evening of November 4th, 2022, a Kitimat RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop and started an investigation for impaired driving. The vehicle operator refused to provide a breath sample, which resulted them being issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and the vehicle being impounded or 30 days.

Noise complaint:

During the very early morning hours of November 5th, 2022, a noise complaint was reported to the Kitimat RCMP. Upon attendance at a residence on Kingfisher Avenue, the officer was able to locate to source of the sound that was disturbing other persons. A discussion was had with the resident and the noise was terminated.

Impaired driver:

On November 5th, 2022, while making patrols in the Kitimat area, a Kitimat RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop which started an investigation of the driver into the impaired operation of a vehicle. The driver was found to have consumed alcohol and was issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition. The vehicle was also impounded for 30 days.

Impaired driver:

The manner that a vehicle was being operated caught the attention of a Kitimat RCMP officer during the early evening hours of November 6th, 2022. A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation into the impaired operation of a vehicle was started. After providing a breath sample, the driver was found to have consumed alcohol and was issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days as well.

Prohibited driver:

A traffic stop, during the evening of November 6th, 2022, resulted in a Kitimat RCMP officer locating a prohibited driver operating a vehicle. The driver was detained for driving while prohibited and was released on paperwork to attend court on a future date in Kitimat BC.

Rock thrown at house:

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of another rock that was thrown at a residence located on Columbia Ave during the early morning hours of November 7th, 2022, in Kitimat BC. The rock that was thrown caused damage to a window in the residence. Extensive patrols for the culprit(s) were completed and the investigation is still ongoing. Single vehicle collision:

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision on Highway 37 near Oolichan Avenue in Kitimat BC during the mid-morning of November 9th, 2022. A vehicle was located in the ditch after going off the road and striking a power pole. Investigation revealed that the driver had swerved to miss an animal on the roadway. No significant injuries were reported. The Kitimat RCMP would like to remind people that as it is staying dark out longer in the morning to take extra care while driving and watch for wildlife and or quickly changing road conditions.
