File # 2022-2715

The Prince Rupert RCMP is requesting the public's help in identifying a suspect in a recent break and enter.

On April 25th, 2022 at approximately 10:00 a.m. the door of The Argosy, an antique furniture store located in the 500 block of 3rd Ave W, was noticed to have its glass broken. It was determined that entry was made into the store front. Upon inventory being taken by the owner she noticed that her personal laptop, a hard drive and her laptop bag had all been taken.

The RCMP acquired the following images from CCTV footage as well as pictures from a bystander:

"Property crime, including theft, is something our front line officers are working hard to combat," Constable Brody Hemrich said, "we have heard the frustrations of the business owners and residents of Prince Rupert. Providing CCTV footage in timely manner, item descriptions, including any possible identifying numbers help us greatly in our investigations and down the road in laying charges."

Cst. Hemrich also added, "Familiarizing yourself, as well as for business owners, your employees, on how to access CCTV footage and copy it onto a disc/storage device is key. I know in many of my own investigations gathering CCTV footage can be a major barrier as police officers are not always aware of how to pull footage from every device or system."

If you know the man pictured above please call the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-627-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
