File # 2022-175

A theft of fuel reported to the Hudson’s Hope RCMP on July 16th 2022 disrupted the ability for the Hudson’s Hope fire department to utilize a very important apparatus.

The Hudson’s Hope RCMP was advised of a break and enter to the Hudson’s Hope Public works yard, located on the 11000 block of Ross Street, in Hudson’s Hope. Investigation revealed that an amount of fuel, jerry cans, a Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck and a red tidy tank was stolen.

The culprit(s) also broke into a large Wildland Fire Fighting trailer and stole jerry cans of fuel, a red Wick-385 water pump and rolls of fire hose.

It is so disappointing that someone would see a large, well marked Wild Fire Response trailer, break into it and steal items that make it un usable if needed. This unit was an integral part of assisting a neighboring community during a wild fire last season and we are so lucky to have one locally in case of an emergency, stated Cpl Rob Gardner Hudson’s Hope RCMP Detachment Commander.

The stolen truck is described as a single cab White Chevrolet Pick up with BC License plate BY5073. The box of the truck has green, yellow and blue decaling, the doors have ‘Hudson’s Hope Playground of the peace’ decaled on them and ’31’ on the headache rack. The truck is similar to the attached photo.
