Update #1 on blockade near Argenta, BC

Two more individuals have been arrested for violating a court-ordered injunction granted to Cooper Creek Cedar Ltd. (CCC) on August 27, 2019 to conduct logging operations in an area known as Salisbury Creek near Argenta, British Columbia.

On June 1, 2022, the RCMP were requested to attend the Salisbury Forest Service Road, where a group of individuals were reportedly blocking the company from entering the area. Most individuals moved off to the side of the road when asked, however, two refused.

One man and one woman were subsequently arrested for Civil Contempt of Court. They were both processed at scene and conditionally released with an upcoming court date of July 19, 2022.

Since police enforcement of the court-ordered injunction began on May 17, 2022, the RCMP have arrested a total of 19 individuals, all for Civil Contempt of Court.
