Man attacked while trying to stop a theft in progress

Powell River RCMP is investigating after a man was allegedly stabbed while trying to stop a theft in progress on Lytton Street near Brunswick Avenue in Powell River, BC.
On April 1, 2022, at around 12:30 a.m., Powell River RCMP responded to a 911 call for a report of a stabbing. It was initially reported that a man had observed another man walking and acting suspiciously on Lytton Road. The suspect was then observed departing a residence car port with items believed to be stolen. The man decided to confront the suspect, however was attacked and allegedly stabbed in the process. The suspect then fled the area.
The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male;
- 25-30 years old;
- 5’10 tall;
- 150 lbs;
- Medium length light coloured hair;
- Black jacket;
- Dark coloured pants;
- White bandana pulled up to his chin.
The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
