Police looking to identify Arson suspect

Surrey RCMP are seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect in an arson.

On June 5, 2023, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a fire at the front entrance of a building located in the 13900-block of 100 Avenue. Surrey Fire Service was also in attendance and quickly extinguished the fire. There was minimal damage and no injuries reported.

It is clear that the fire was deliberately set, however the motive is unknown. The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit have conduct of the ongoing investigation and are working closely with the Surrey RCMP Arson Coordinator.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male wearing a grey hoodie, green shirt underneath, grey shorts, black shoes with low cut socks and carrying a dark backpack on his back, was seen running from the scene. (See attached photo).

Police are asking anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed anything suspicious, or anyone who recognizes the man in the photo to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
