Want to be a Mountie and stay close to home? Join us June 3!

On June 3, 2023 the Surrey RCMP and the BC RCMP Recruiting Team is hosting a unique career information session in which applicants will have the opportunity to start the application process on site.

Surrey RCMP is excited to host this session as it will be the first of its kind here in British Columbia, states Sergeant Tammy Lobb, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer.

Since the last recruiting session at Surrey Detachment in March 2023, applicants can enter into a flexible posting plan, allowing them to work in the available positions across British Columbia if they choose to. If you’re from BC and want to police with the RCMP in BC, this is your opportunity!

Applicants will have the option of registering for two different segments that day.

The segments are as follows:

Segment One: General Information Session

The General Information Session begins at 11:00 a.m. Applicants who are interested in a career with the RCMP will hear first-hand from both Surrey RCMP officers and recruiting officers from the BC RCMP about how applicants can make a difference in their communities as well as on the national and international stage. Officers from specialized teams within the Surrey Detachment, including the Surrey Gang Enforcement Team and Serious Crime Unit, will also be in attendance to share their experiences in policing.

Segment Two: Application Workshop & Mandatory Career Presentation

The Application Workshop & Mandatory Career Presentation begins at 2:00 p.m. It is a requirement that all applicants attend a Mandatory Career Presentation when applying to the RCMP. As part of this presentation, recruiters will guide serious applicants through the step-by-step process of starting their on-line applications.

Providing serious applicants the option of starting their on-line application the same day they attend the mandatory career presentation, will not only speed up the process for applicants, but it provides them with direct guidance and support from recruiters who can help answer any questions they may have, explains Sergeant Lobb. This is what sets this career information session apart from the rest, because applicants would not otherwise receive this direct guidance and support from recruiters when applying on-line from home, added Lobb.
