Police investigating homicide in Guildford

Surrey RCMP is working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) following a shooting in the Guildford area of Surrey that has left one man injured and another deceased.

On May 2, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a shooting in a parking lot located in the 14800-block of 108 Avenue. Upon attendance, police located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to hospital, one has since succumbed to his injuries and the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP. Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, however Initial information suggests that this was a targeted incident with ties to the BC Gang Conflict. A possible suspect vehicle was located a short time later in Langley, with indications that an attempt was made to light it on fire.
