Maple Ridge B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP is investigating a single vehicle incident that occurred over the weekend.


On February 5, 2021, at approximately 5:45 pm, Ridge Meadows frontline RCMP officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the 24500 block of 112 Ave. The vehicle went down a steep embankment and into a creek, with the occupant of the vehicle trapped inside.


The RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, Maple Ridge Fire Department all worked in collaboration to assist with removing an 18 year old female, and lone occupant from the vehicle, a grey 4 door Acura. Air Ambulance transported the woman to hospital due to the serious nature of the injuries.


Ridge Meadows General Investigation Section (GIS), Investigational Support Team (IST) and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service attended to assist with the investigation which is still ongoing.

 
"This young woman from our community has suffered serious injuries and our thoughts and prayers go out to this woman, her family and friends," states Constable Julie Klaussner. "Although this is a single vehicle incident, Police are still looking for further witnesses."
