File # 2020-20795

Maple Ridge B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP is investigating an assault and are appealing to the public for any witnesses or information that may be helpful.

On September 22, 2020, at around 9:20 am, a couple was driving West-bound on Abernethy Way, East of 203rd Street, when they observed a lone male lying in the long grass on the North side of Abernethy. The man had suffered severe and significant injuries. The witnesses stayed on scene until police arrived and the man was transported to hospital.

The investigation has revealed the man’s injuries are the result of an assault and not from a vehicle collision.

Police have canvassed the area and are now appealing to the public for further witnesses. If you saw something in the area or have possible dash camera footage from around the time of this incident please contact Constable A. Wilcott at 604-463-6251 or call CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a TIP online at www.solvecrime.ca.
