More witnesses sought in fatal cyclist incident

Maple Ridge, BC – Ridge Meadows RCMP is seeking dash camera footage and further witnesses to a fatal collision.

On July 20, 2020, at approximately 5:45 PM, there was a collision between a pickup truck and a cyclist which resulted in the cyclist succumbing to their injuries and sadly, died at scene.

The Road Safety Target Team (RSTT) is looking to complete a timeline of the events leading up to the collision. Police are interested in the following information;

• If you were travelling on Lougheed Highway between 240th Street and Spilsbury Street at around 5:30pm to 5:45pm.
• If you saw the vehicle or cyclists prior to the collision.
• If you witnessed the collision or have dash camera footage of the collision
• If you have dash camera footage of the pickup truck or cyclists in the moments leading up to the collision.

The vehicle is described as follows:

• 4 door
• XTR 4x4 Decal on rear box
