File # 2020-13852

Pitt Meadows B.C – Ridge Meadows RCMP received multiple reports of alleged vehicles being shot by a bb style gun.

On June 28, 2020, starting around 1030 pm, Ridge Meadows RCMP received several complaints of shots fired in the areas of 12400 Block of Harris Rd and the 12000 of Blakely Rd.

When police arrived on scene they were advised that it was believed the damage was caused by a bb type gun and provided with descriptions of alleged suspects. The vehicles were damaged with small dents and one vehicle had a broken window consistent with damage that could be caused by a bb type gun.

Police flooded the area conducting patrols and located three males matching descriptions provided to Police. The males were detained and searched for officer safety.

A BB gun and a knife was located on a 17 year old youth and he was subsequently arrested.

"Thanks to everyone who contacted police and immediately advising them of the incident," states Constable Julie Klaussner. "This enabled police to focus on a specific area and locate alleged suspects, resulting in the seizure of a bb type gun and potentially preventing possible injuries or further damage."
