File # 2023-37719

A man has been released with conditions and a court date as part of an investigation into a North Shore break and enter last night.

On Oct. 18, 2023, around 11 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 300-block of Tranquille Road, where a person had smashed a window to get into a store, stole liquor, and fled on foot.

Thanks to the quick response of officers, a suspect was located nearby, drinking from one of the bottles believed to have been stolen, and taken into custody without issue, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The suspect, a man in his 40s, was later released with conditions and a court date. Charge recommendation is anticipated as part of the assessment and approval process. Anyone with video or information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-37719.
