On May 12, 2023, around 9:10 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP Detachment was advised that ‘Luna’, a French bulldog, had been stolen from inside a vehicle, which had its windows open, on the 1300-block of Columbia Street earlier this month.

Photos of Luna had been posted on social media and led to a person reporting that they thought they saw her downtown.

Police officers were led to a residence downtown and while they were investigating the tip, Luna came running around the corner towards them, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Officers safely carried the dog away from the residence and made arrangements to have it returned to its owner early next week. We are happy to report that Luna is happy and well.

Anyone with information related to how Luna was taken or ended up at the residence is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-16474.
