Police seek to identify hit and run driver

Coquitlam RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver who fled a motor vehicle collision causing extensive damage to the metal meridian fencing along Pinetree Way in Coquitlam.

Coquitlam RCMP Frontline officers responded to a hit and run on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1:45 p.m. on Pinetree Way between Lincoln Avenue and Anson Avenue in Coquitlam. A dark grey Honda CR-V was travelling south-bound on Pinetree Way when it collided with the metal meridian fencing separating the lanes of travel.
The driver of the vehicle was observed exiting their vehicle, assessing the damage, before leaving the area. The driver left the vehicle’s bumper at the scene of the collision.
The driver can be described as:
- Caucasian woman
- 50-60 years old
- Short blonde hair
We know the driver is aware of the collision as they were observed exiting the vehicle to look at the substantial damage. We are asking the driver to do the right thing, and contact our investigators,
said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, has dash cam video or may know the driver to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.
