File # 2024-10394

Prince George RCMP continues to investigate the reports received of unknown persons attending residences in the community under the guise of being Northern Health employees, first reported by Northern Health on April 2, 2024.

Investigators continue to collect information about who may have been posing as Northern Health staff and ask that anyone who was similarly approached by people claiming to be from Northern Health or from Fire Smart please contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line to speak with a police officer.

We are reminding the public not to open their home to anyone they were not expecting or have not previously set up an at-home appointment with. Even if a person attends your home with what appears to be legitimate credentials, it is always a good idea to call that company yourself to double check the information, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

If you feel you have been the victim of a fraud, report it to your local police detachment. If you have given away personal information, such as banking information, ensure you contact your bank as well as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre immediately.
