New Burquitlam Community Police Office is open with expanded hours

The new Burquitlam Community Police office (CPO) for Coquitlam RCMP is now open to the public.

The office is located at 557 Emerson Street, Coquitlam, within the new YMCA.

The grand opening of the Burquitlam Community Police office is Wednesday, May 17, 2023. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the public is invited to attend the office to meet with volunteers, city staff and Police officers, obtain resource information and swag.

The Coquitlam RCMP CPOs were created to increase police accessibility to communities by providing crime prevention assistance and education. Coquitlam RCMP has four CPOs; two in Coquitlam and two in Port Coquitlam. For more information, visit Community Police Offices and Contact Coquitlam RCMP on our website.

On Monday, April 3, 2023 the Burquitlam Community Police office opened with limited hours to the public. Starting Monday, May 8, 2023 the hours are increasing to provide more opportunities for public attendance.

The hours are:

• Saturday and Sunday – closed
• Monday to Friday – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The office is operated by volunteers and City staff to assist the public with criminal record checks, safety and crime-prevention programs and lost and found items. The office will occasionally be used by Coquitlam RCMP officers for administrative work. The office will not be staffed with a Police officer and the public should continue to attend the Coquitlam RCMP main detachment at 2986 Guildford Way or call 604-945-1550 if they would like to report a crime.

To contact the Burquitlam Community Police office directly, contact 604-949-5000. In case of emergencies, please call 9-1-1. As the CPOs provided limited services, the public is still encouraged to report crimes online at Report.RCMP.ca or call the non-emergency number at 604-945-1550.
