Sexual Assault Awareness Month is an annual April campaign to raise awareness and educate people about preventing sexual violence.

The Sea to Sky RCMP - Whistler Detachment, and the Resort Municipality of Whistler, are honouring those who have died from sexual violence; and supporting survivors of sexual assault and victims who continue to be targeted for these violent crimes.

To raise awareness about sexual violence, the Fitzsimmons Bridge will be lit in a teal colour for all of April. Local RCMP members will be wearing teal coloured ribbons and coordinating a series of events throughout the month.

To start the campaign, Whistler Community Services is hosting a free event, Parenting Today’s Teens. Constable Guneet Pannu and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will be participating in the event where parents and community members are invited to attend.
