Fort St John RCMP make arrest day after residential break and enter

On February 7, 2023, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of a residential break and enter in the Charlie Lake area, where a pistol, two shotguns and a rifle had been stolen along with a video gaming console.

During the investigation, front-line RCMP officers received information that the items were believed to be at a Fort St John residence located on the 9200 block of 93rd Ave, and obtained a search warrant for the residence.

On February 8, 2023, Fort St John front-line RCMP police officers, Fort St John Drug Unit plain clothes officers located and arrested the property owner of the residence.

The search warrant was subsequently executed on the residence with two shotguns and the video gaming console being recovered by police. Police also seized a significant amount of a what is believed to be illicit drugs.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher Darryl Munch was arrested and is currently facing charges of:

At the time of the arrest, Munch was prohibited from possessing any firearms. Munch was held for court where he was remanded into custody until February 13, 2023 and again until February 15, 2023.

Two firearms have been recovered which is a testimony to the seriousness the RCMP gives to firearms related offences, said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP. With two more outstanding firearms, our officers will continue to work on this.
