Superintendent Jennifer Hyland

The Ridge Meadows RCMP Detachment jointly serves the cities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, as well as the Katzie First Nations. I am very proud of our police officers, civilian staff, volunteers, community partners and citizens, as we all play a role in keeping our communities safe. I believe both Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows are incredible places to live, work and play and as your police service we are proud to continually build a safer community together.

Our pillars for performance – Community Safety, Effective & Efficient Performance and Strengthening Communications & Community Relations will move us forward and enable us to strategically plan our work for the next 5 years. We commit to being transparent with our information wherever possible and report our statistical data to our communities quarterly. Our priorities include engagement with our youth knowing that they are the future and that relationship building with police is important, and Road Safety, particularly excessive speeding, as this is a real threat to the safety of all our citizens. We continue to strive every day to find efficiencies that will improve our service delivery to our citizens and improve our effectiveness as the police force serving you.

We are making efforts to modernize the way we communicate, utilizing social media as a tool to meet the expectations of the public who want to receive fast and accurate information. As well, we are committed to providing our citizens with more contemporary and leading edge messaging as we want our citizens to engage with us in a positive way. We believe that we can achieve greater heights on the communication front by humanizing what we do and why we do it.

Words do not express the confidence I have in the members that serve you. They are engaged individuals who are dedicated to our communities and the citizens who live here. We are excited for what’s ahead and connected to our policing strategies that include the needs of our citizens, our partners and the priorities of the cities we serve.
