Fatal collision over the weekend

Maple Ridge B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP is investigating the cause of a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday night.

On July 16, 2022, at approximately 11:30 pm, Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded to the report of a serious collision in the 27200 block of Lougheed Highway.

A white Honda Civic, being driven by a 20-year-old man with an 18-year-old woman passenger collided with a Honda CRV being driven 39-year-old woman and lone occupant.

Maple Ridge Fire Department and BC Ambulance Services attempted life saving measures on the occupants of the Honda Civic, however they died on scene. The woman in the Honda CRV was transported to hospital by BC Air Ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Ridge Meadows frontline officers, Serious Crimes Unit Investigators (SCU) and the Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Services attended to assist with the investigation.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and there are no further details available at this time.
