Woman has died of her injuries and IHIT is on scene

Maple Ridge B.C. – Police respond to reports of a person being shot and find two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

On July 15, 2022 at approximately 8:45 am, Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline officers responded to a report that a person had been allegedly shot in the area of the 22600 block of 119 Avenue.

Upon arrival Police determined that a woman and a man had sustained gun shot wounds and were transported to hospital by BC Ambulance Services. The man sustained non-life threatening injures, however the woman has since died of her injuries.

It is still in the early stages of the Investigation and Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). Police do not believe this is a random incident.

IHIT has now taken conduct of the investigation.
