On March 24, 2023, the Fort St John RCMP requested the public’s assistance with a report of shots fired at a residence in the area of the 8600 block of 74th Street in Fort St John.

Though the investigation is still in the early stages, it has been determined this was a targeted incident as the inhabitants of the residence are known to police, said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St John RCMP.

Investigators have obtained surveillance video and are requesting the assistance of the public to identify and locate the suspect vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black or dark mid-2000 Volkswagen Jetta with what appears to be a dark front passenger side tire rim. Below is an exemplar photo of a similar Jetta.

The vehicle departed the 8600 block of 74th Street by turning westbound onto 87th Avenue.

Investigators are requesting that anyone who may have security camera footage of the area between the time of approximately 4:20am and 4:26am on March 24, 2023, review their footage and report any relevant information.

The Fort St John RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information in this matter to contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100.
