File # 2024-23699

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses and information, after a Rayleigh park washroom was badly damaged last week.

On Wednesday July 24, 2024, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the Rae Mor Park at Arab Run Road, where several toilets were smashed sometime between Sunday July 21, and Tuesday July 23. The area is home to a ball diamond, tennis court, and skateboard park.

The washroom is usually locked at night, but unfortunately, it was somehow unsecured and someone took the opportunity to damage it significantly, rendering it unusable for the time being, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. It’s very unfortunately for the users of the park and its community, and we are hopeful someone will have information to help further the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed, recorded video, or has information that may be related to this incident, is asked to please phone the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-23699.
