Major Police Incident – Homicide

Surrey RCMP is currently investigating a homicide in the Newton area of Surrey.

On July 23, 2024, at approximately 11:50 pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a complaint of a fight in the 6600 block of King George Boulevard. When officers attended they located a male suffering from stab wounds. Despite life-saving efforts from both Frontline Police Officers and British Columbia Ambulance Service, the male was declared deceased at scene.

Early indications are that the two individuals engaged in an altercation resulting in the victim being stabbed. It is unknown if the two parties involved were known to each other prior to the incident, or what the motivation for the incident was. The suspect is described as a white male, 6’ tall, clean shaven with short sandy blonde hair.

Police are still on scene in the early stages of the investigation and will be for some time. Motorists are asked to avoid the area, as King George Boulevard is shut down to all traffic between 64 Avenue and 68 Avenue.
