Police investigating homicide; IHIT assuming conduct

Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating a homicide that occurred earlier today in Maple Ridge.
On July, 21, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of an unidentified female who was bleeding in the area of 232 Street and 132 Avenue in Maple Ridge.
Police attended the scene and observed a woman who had sustained serious injuries.
BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) and Maple Ridge Fire Department (MRFD) attended the scene and performed life-saving measures which were ultimately unsuccessful. At approximately 3:25 p.m., the woman was pronounced dead on scene.
Ridge Meadows RCMP Investigational Support Team (IST) and Serious Crimes Unit (SCU) also attended the scene.
There is no information to suggest there are threats to public safety at this time.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed in Maple Ridge.
This is currently an active and ongoing investigation. IHIT has conduct of this investigation and all further information will be provided by their media contact.
