One man arrested and charged for uttering threats

Surrey RCMP is advising the public that one man has been arrested and charged with uttering threats and remains in custody.

On July 6, 2024 Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an incident which occurred last month on June 22, 2024 in the 13600-block of 18 Avenue. The victim reported that she was chased by a man who threatened to harm her physically. The victim was able to run away to safety. No contact was made between the suspect and the victim.

On July 7, 2024, Surrey RCMP frontline officers arrested a suspect after officers conducted their investigation. 36-year-old Ricki Randall Taysup is charged with one count of uttering threats and remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

As the matter is before courts, we will not be able to provide further information.
