File # 2023-211577

The Surrey RCMP is informing the public that a man has been arrested and charged with failing to comply with probation conditions.

In April 2022, Christopher Paterson was released on probation following a custodial sentence with several conditions.

On June 19, 2024, the Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit arrested Christopher Paterson in Surrey for allegedly failing to comply with his conditions. He has since been charged with five counts of failing to comply with probation order and two counts of failing to comply with prohibition order.

Ensuring the community’s safety and protecting vulnerable individuals is always a top priority for the Surrey RCMP, says Sergeant Erin Davis of the Special Victims Unit at the Surrey RCMP Detachment. By keeping a watchful eye and monitoring these offenders, we can help prevent potential re-offences as well as provide peace of mind to the residents of the city. This is one example of how officers are continuously working to hold known offenders accountable.

Christopher Paterson remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on July 19, 2024.

As this matter is before the courts no further information will be released.
