File # 2024-17599

The death of a man discovered with serious injuries last weekend is not considered suspicious, following a police investigation.

On Saturday June 8, 2024, around 3:20 p.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers responded to a residence on the 600-block of Sydney Avenue, where an unconscious man was located inside with what appeared to be blunt force injuries. He was transported to the hospital and sadly died in the early hours of Sunday June 9. A police presence was evident in the area, as investigators executed a search warrant as part of the sudden death investigation.

Following the results of the sudden death investigation, police do not suspect criminality was involved in the man’s untimely death, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The BC Coroners Service is conducting a concurrent investigation. No further information will be released by police.
