Coquitlam RCMP arrest suspect in indecent act series

Coquitlam RCMP have identified and arrested the suspect who committed a series of indecent acts near Maillard Middle School in Coquitlam.

Between May 27, 2024 and June 4, 2024 an unknown male was seen around Maillard Middle School located at 1300 Rochester Avenue in Coquitlam in a series of indecent acts. These incidents occurred during school hours, however, the suspect did not approach any persons.

Coquitlam RCMP Investigational Support Team (IST) assumed conduct of the files, working with Coquitlam RCMP Youth Section and SD43 – Coquitlam.

On Saturday, June 15, 2024 Coquitlam RCMP arrested a youth suspect.

The youth suspect has been released on conditions to not go to any locations where anyone under the age of 18 may be, including but not limited to: schools, daycares, playgrounds, recreation centres.

We would like to thank the public from their assistance in these investigations, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Coquitlam RCMP worked diligently together to identify, locate and arrest the individual responsible to ensure the on-going safety of the community.

The suspect’s name will not be release in accordance to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
