Police investigating sudden death on Sydney Avenue

Kamloops police were present at a North Shore residence this weekend, where a man was located with serious injuries, the cause of which was unknown.

On Saturday June 8, 2024, around 3:20 p.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers responded to a residence on the 600-block of Sydney Avenue, where an unconscious man was located inside with what appeared to be blunt force injuries. He was transported to the hospital and sadly died in the early hours of Sunday June 9.

As part of the sudden death investigation, police executed a search warrant on the residence to help determine what occurred and if any criminality was suspected, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.

Police are working with the BC Coroners Services, which is conducting a concurrent investigation.
