Inspector Mark Baxter, Pro-active Enforcement & Administrative Officer of Richmond RCMP, highlighted the significance of the event: This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to road safety and community engagement. The support from our partners and the community has been tremendous and we are thrilled to see such a positive turnout despite the weather.

The event was made possible by the collective efforts of Richmond RCMP’s Community Engagement Team, Road Safety Unit, frontline officers, Community Police Office staff, and dedicated volunteers, in collaboration with our key partners, including ICBC, Lime, Lansdowne Centre, ProMechBC, HUB Cycling, Vancouver Coastal Health, and the City of Richmond. Each organization played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s success, from providing safety gear to setting up the course and engaging with the public.

As part of the ongoing e-scooter pilot program in Richmond, Richmond RCMP reminds the public that increased enforcement of e-scooter regulations is in effect. This measure aims to enhance the road safety of all road and sidewalk users.

We urge all e-scooter users to adhere to the safety guidelines and regulations, added Inspector Baxter. Our goal is to make Richmond’s roads and sidewalks safe for everyone.
