Charge laid in August murder of a Surrey man

A 42-year old man has been charged in relation to an August 24 murder in Surrey. 

Background:

On August 27, 2023, at 11:47 a.m., Surrey RCMP members attended a suspicious death in the 19100-block 68 Avenue. Members attended and located a 56-year old man, later identified as Robb MEMORY of Surrey, deceased suffering from injuries consistent with homicide. A 42-year old suspect was identified on scene and taken into custody. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and has been working closely in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section to advance the investigation.

On September 1, 2023, a charge of second-degree murder was laid against the accused, Paul Martin of Surrey, who remains in police custody.

Robb was a caring and generous person. The family appreciates the hard work and dedication of IHIT, says Robb’s father, Cecil Memory.
