2023-2354 / 2385: Stolen bike
On May 22, 2023 a very alert citizen notified Whistler RCMP of an individual in possession of what was believed to be a stolen bike. The bike was seized and an investigation was commenced into possession of property obtained by crime. On May 23, 2023, Whistler Police had the pleasure of returning the stolen bike to its rightful owner.
2023-2393 / 2451: Fraud
On May 24 and May 27, 2023 Whistler Members investigated reports of fraud. In one incident, an individual was contacted by an unknown number identifying themselves as the Canadian Revenue Agency. In another incident, money was paid via e-transfer with the intent of purchasing a vehicle. Persons who believe they are victims of fraud can contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, as well as the police, to report the fraud.
2023-2479 / 2477: Break, enter and theft
On May 29, 2023 Whistler Members received calls for service of break, enter and thefts from two local construction sites during the evening/overnight hours of the weekend of May 28-29. A number of tools were stolen from both sites with an approximate value of $12,000.00. The suspects remain outstanding.
2023-2469 / 2431 / 2432: Traffic enforcement
During the past week, Whistler Members investigated a number of driving-related files from both proactive patrols and calls for service from the public. These investigations included driving without insurance and failing to produce a driver’s license, patrols at pedestrian crosswalks, erratic driving and excessive speeding on motorcycles, and increased patrols in Whistler subdivisions.
Members have also conducted numerous patrols in the Whistler area with a focus on youths riding e-bikes without helmets.
