Police seeking witnesses, dashcam footage of collision

Maple Ridge, BC – Ridge Meadows RCMP is seeking witnesses after a collision involving a motorcycle and a car that occurred on Friday evening.

On April 28, 2023, at approximately 8:30 pm, police responded to the report of a serious motor vehicle incident on Haney Bypass and 225 Street in Maple Ridge that caused nearby roads to be closed for approximately 5 hours.

Ridge Meadows RCMP and the Road Safety Target Team (RSTT) were first on scene and provided first aid to the riders on the motorcycle. BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) attended the scene and transported three people to hospital, including one via air ambulance.

Two people suffered serious injuries but are in stable condition.

Serious Crimes Unit (SCU), Maple Ridge Fire Department (MRFD) and Integrated Collison Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) also attended the scene to assist. RSTT is investigating all potential causes of the motor vehicle incident.

This is currently an active and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time.
