One man arrested following armed robbery.

On September 8, 2022 at 10:42 AM, Northern Rockies RCMP were called to the scene of an armed robbery.
A lone man, walked up to the drive thru window of the local A&W, pointed a shotgun at the employee and demanded money. An undisclosed sum of money was taken and the suspected departed the scene on foot.
Police immediately attended and set up containment of the scene. While actively searching for the suspect, police located the firearm hidden in some brush. The suspect was soon spotted and after a lengthy foot pursuit, and with the help of a private citizen, the suspect was arrested.
The suspect, Ian McMillan, a 37 year old Fort Nelson man, remains in custody and has been charged with the following:
- Robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of stolen property
- Willfully resisting a peace officer
