Violent home invasion

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a home invasion in which the occupant of the central Nanaimo home was assaulted, tied up then robbed. The incident occurred at approximately 7 am on Monday October 23rd, 2017 on Beverly Drive.
The 31 year male victim told police, he answered a knock at his front door and was met by two unknown persons. The two pushed their way in to his home and with one brandishing a handgun; the two proceeded to assault him. During the assault the victim’s hands were bound and a covering was placed over his head. The assault continued for several minutes until the two suspects left with the victim’s television and motorcycle. When the suspects had fled, the victim managed to free himself and call 911. During the assault he sustained facial injuries and was treated at his residence by attending BC paramedics.
There may have been a third person involved as the suspects were heard talking to a female on a hand held radio. Investigators also believe this was a targeted incident but to date have not been able to establish a motive, said Constable Gary O'Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.
The two suspects are described as follows:
Suspect # 1
- white male, thin build
- wearing black and blue striped earmuffs
- dark blue or black hoodie
- wearing white basketball shoes
Suspect # 2
- white male
- 5 ft.10 to 5 ft.11, 220 -pounds
- wearing blue jeans
The stolen motorcycle is a black 2006 Kawasaki Ninja. The victim told police the bike is quite unique as there is only two of its kind in Nanaimo.
