File # 2017 Unsolved crimes May 14th to May 16th

Nanaimo file # 2017-14507 On Sunday May 14th, at approximately 10 am a female reported her red leather wallet with a bear paw etching was stolen from the female washroom at the Departure Bay Ferry terminal. The owner stated a white female; 18-20 year of age was the only other person in the washroom at the time the wallet was taken. The suspect was described as looking " sketchy but no description of her or her clothing was provided.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14513 On Sunday May 14th, at approximately 2 pm a pair of black Beats headphones was stolen from VI Fitness on Bowen Road. The serial # for the headphones is FL6T7KLNH8VD.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14578 on Monday May 15th, two males broke into a bike shed in the 200 block of Milton St and stole a bicycle. The owner of the property yelled at them which caused them to take off running. They left with one bike minus the front wheel. The bike shed was locked and entry was gained entry by snipping the tin handle then removing the lock. One of the males was seen carrying two heavy black bags.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14729 On or about Tuesday May 16th, a propane fire pit was stolen from the backyard of a home on Sloan Road. The black Outland portable fire bowl had a homemade grate and was still in the box.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14737 Sometime overnight on Tuesday May 16th, a volt metre was stolen from Parker Marine located at 1920 East Wellington Road.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14801 On Tuesday May 16th, reports were received of motor bikes riding on the soccer field at Rutherford Elementary school located on Hammond Bay Road. This is an ongoing problem and causes significant damage to the playing fields. One of the bikes was white in colour.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14802 On Tuesday May 16th, at approximately 6 pm a women had her purse stolen as she was taking her child out of its car seat. The theft occurred in the parking lot of Chapters on Mary Ellen Drive. The female had put her purse down for just a minute and then suddenly an unknown person came by, grabbed her purse then left in a newer model black family sedan vehicle. The vehicle had a silver emblem on the front and there was a female in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The victim had her keys, wallet and phone in her purse. The suspect vehicle was last seen going towards the backside of the Woodgrove Centre towards the movie theatres.

Nanaimo file # 2017-14808 On Tuesday May 16th, a mountain bike was stolen from the backyard of a home on Cryrstal Brook Place. The bike is a dark green Trail X2 with serial # Y13L005751.
