BEAT Patrol

BEAT Patrol is a program that works in partnership with Crime Prevention Office (CPO), Mission Downtown Business Association and ICBC. The goal is to reduce crime in Mission’s business and residential areas by conducting daytime patrols acting as extra eyes and ears for the Police. The volunteers assist in reducing the fear of crime by being a visible presence. This program consists of three phases - Volunteer Walkers, Volunteer Bike Patrol & Residential Walking Group.

Volunteer Walkers

Since our crime statistics indicate high auto crime in our downtown business core, this area is patrolled by volunteers. The volunteers are identifiable and act as a presence on the street. They also act as ambassadors for the District of Mission and the business community.

Volunteer Bike Patrol

Bike Patrol Volunteers patrol the downtown, residential areas and city parks on bicycles with the same role as the volunteer walkers. They have a visible presence that will assist with decreasing home break-ins, as well as vehicle crime occurring in residential areas.

If you would like to join our friendly team of volunteers through the Mission Crime Prevention Office (CPO) you can pickup a Volunteer Application form from our office. You can find our address at the top of this page. If you have any questions please call us at (604) 820-2722.
