File # 2017-137057
Surrey RCMP is investigating an early morning hit and run where a pedestrian was struck and later died in hospital.
On September 26th, at 7:20am, police were called to the 14300 block of 92nd Avenue in Guildford. A man had been found by a passerby on the road unconscious with head injuries. No one had witnessed what led to the man’s injuries and it wasn’t readily apparent what had transpired or how long he had been injured. The man, a 28 year old Surrey resident, was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is leading the investigation. A thorough examination of the scene was conducted with assistance from the Integrated Collision and Reconstruction Service (ICARS). Investigators located glass fragments and pieces of a vehicle suspected to have been involved. Officers are continuing to canvass the neighbourhood for potential witnesses and surveillance video.
